Ideas For Arms

I received this invitation to the August A.S. XII revel in the mail. It had been thoroughly crunched. The reason it's so difficult to read is that it was not photocopied, it was mimeographed. (Does anyone out there remember Dirty Purple? Now that's Ancient History.) The purple letters are very faded by now. So I did the best scan I could (gray scale worked best).

Robert de Spencer is, mundanely, Claire Spencer's brother. She got his entire family (Robert, his wife Leah--whose alternate persona Sister Scholastica wrote this missive--and their daughters Janice and Aegina) into the SCA very early on. They became very active, throwing their hearts into the SCA. Their household, Hold Tyte, was a nexus of SCA activity in am Mor Salann Fasach/Loch Salann for many years.

Meistres Rhonwen welcomes others who were there in the early days adding their reminiscences--after over 25 years, her memory is a bit faulty, and much information has disappeared in the fog. E-mail her at [email protected].
